Hello! Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Sure! My name is Cyriac.
I’m originally from Lille in France. In 2018, I graduated from ITEEM, which is part of Centrale Lille and the SKEMA Business School. I started at Back Market right after school, 2 years ago, to do my end-of-studies internship. At the time, the company had around 80 employees.
What do you do at Back Market?
Upon arriving, I immediately joined the Buyback team. We are the team that is in charge of Back Market resales. My current position is Operations Manager. Basically, this means I’m the contact person for our reconditioners! After the lockdown, I’ll be moving to the Bordeaux office to take on new responsibilities!
What does a typical day look like for you at Back Market?
Hmm…it’s hard to say because my days can be so different. I reply to messages and emails from Back Mackers and our professional partners, then look at our sales numbers from the previous day. I also have meetings with my coworkers to discuss ways to make life easier for our reconditioners and customers!
Why did you choose Back Market?
I’d say the main reason was that I was looking for an ambitious company that wanted to have a positive impact on the environment. I also liked the fact that during my interviews, I was told that I would be entrusted with important assignments to help me quickly get up to speed, even though I had very little experience. Finally, I really hit it off with all the people I met during the recruitment process.
Your favorite product on the platform?
The speakers! Outstanding power, performance, and design (and reconditioned of course!)
Any funny stories during your time at Back Market?
I’m known around the office as something of a printer expert because I used the printer all the time when I first arrived. My coworkers sometimes even call me #printerman.
The last app you installed on your smartphone?
Fizzer. An app that lets you send postcards directly from your smartphone (very handy for keeping in touch with your grandparents during the lockdown).
Your last eco-friendly action?
Since the middle of March, I’ve only left the house when absolutely necessary!
“There’s no shame in being a soccer fan.”
